Good food & really nice atmosphere
Had a nice meal out w/ family -party of 10 - 31May08 and it was really nice ! Two of our family members were running late, but the staff treated us all so well! We much prefer Frankie & Bennie's to TGI Fridays..sorry,TGI Friday. We'd go back any chance we got. (the new location on the Bay in Cardiff, btw) Too bad for the others who had bad experience.

I can honestly say that I think Frankie and Benny's in Cardiff Bay is possibly the worst place I have ever had the misfortune of eating. I have been there 3 times, foolishly thinking that the problems were a one off. I will never go there again. The service is terrible, I can't imagine who would hire such rude and unattentive servers.
I went on once with my friend and her two children aged 4 and 2. We waited for about 15 minutes for our drinks before we could order our food. After waiting 45 minutes for our food with the children getting more and more restless we were told that they did not have one of the kids meals. So we ordered a different one for her. About another 10 minutes later our food was served, including the original kids food we had ordered. To wait that long for food when you have small children is totally unacceptable.
Other complaints would include burnt food, having to find someone to ask for more drinks and then again for desert menus for the children, rude staff, uninterested management. The list goes on. Overall I would urge you to stay away from this place unless you want a truely unenjoyable experience.

AWFUL
Franky & Benny's Cardiff Bay has to be the most awful restaturant I have ever been to. My husband, son and I waited a hour for our main food and when I asked the waitress how much longer our meals would be I was told 5 minutes. Another half a hour went past and my 2 year old son was now rather cranky and hungry so I asked again where our food was only to be told my order had been lost. We decided not to wait any longer and the manager could not apologise enough and didnt want us to pay for our drinks or starters, not that I would have anyway! I can honestly say I will never ever return here or any other chain of Frankie & Benny's ever again.

Good time
Once a month, I take my children here for lunch and I think its very good. The service has always been quick and the waitresses polite and helpful. The size of portions for children is just right and there is a very good choice. The last time I was there I had the chicken Caesar sandwich which was delicious. For my 2 year old daughter, its like being somewhere that's a bit more grown up than at McD's.

rip off , will never go again
I went there on Sunday night, waited 1.5 hours before I got any food, my meal was tiny "Mediterranean Veg Burger " , and at £8.25 was a rip off , it hand a handful of chips no garnish and the pot of relish was about a quarter full in fact I took a photo( to back up my comments) of the meal as I was so disappointed , my partners was the "Full to the brim with spicy pepperoni, ham, bacon,
mushrooms and mozzarella. All topped with Mamma’s rich
Neapolitan tomato and herb sauce."
whereas in fact it had a 6 pieces of pepperoni and a few small fatty scraps of bacon , the rest being just burnt dough .and mammas sauce was a tiny spot on the top
We ordered more drinks and a jug of water which never arrived , but still managed to make an appearance on the bill.
When my partner complained to the waitress she was quite abrupt and offhand

How funny!
We do go at lunchtime when its quite empty so maybe its a better time for the staff. Are we the only customers in Wales that get a quick, good service here?
Araldite, I would never consider paying the full bill somewhere if the service or food isn't what I expect. Always make a very big fuss and always speak to the manager, never the waitress.
Good luck for next time - if you are going again!

Not great
Reading the above comments , tend to agrre, over priced, poor service, problem is the people who work there are usually only there short term and get paid buttons!
