Visitor Attractions in Cardiff

The Millennium Stadium is perhaps Cardiff's most famous attraction, having hosted many high profile events, such as international rugby matches, football cup finals and pop concerts, but Cardiff has much more to offer...

The recently opened Wales Millennium Centre offers an impressive variety of stage productions throughout the year. During August Cardiff's civic centre plays host to the finale of the Cardiff festival, when a series of free outdoor concerts (known as the Big Weekend) take place within the civic gardens. Historic and cultural attractions include the National Museum, Cardiff Castle, Castell Coch and the Welsh Folk Museum in St Fagans. The recently opened Cardiff City Stadium is the new home to Cardiff Blues Rugby Club and Cardiff City Football Club.

Cardiff is regularly voted one of the best drinking destinations in the UK. Little wonder, with over 40 pubs and bars in and around St Mary Street alone! A match day visit to Cardiff is like no other. The central location of the Millennium Stadium means that the city centre is awash with fans before and after a big game. For those who like to drink in a more relaxing environment, Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay offers a quieter setting, with an equally impressive range of pubs and bars.
