Mad Max (1979)
This stunning, post-apocalyptic action thriller from director George Miller stars Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky, a policeman in the near future who is tired of his job.
Since the apocalypse, the lengthy, desolate stretches of highway in the Australian outback have become bloodstained battlegrounds. Max has seen too many innocents and fellow officers murdered by the bomb's savage offspring, bestial marauding bikers for whom killing, rape, and looting is a way of life. He just wants to retire and spend time with his wife and son but lets his boss talk him into taking a peaceful vacation and he starts to reconsider.
Then his world is shattered as a gang led by the evil Toecutter (Hugh Keays-Byrne) murders his family in retaliation for the death of one of its members. Dead inside, Max straps on his helmet and climbs into a souped-up V8 racing machine to seek his bloody revenge.
Screening Information:
Our events are for adults, no under 18s admitted. Please ensure that you bring along I.D. if you’re lucky enough to look under 21!!
A licensed bar is available so you can enjoy a drink watching the sun go down and the stars appear. Hot food and cinema snacks and treats will also be available for you to nibble on...check our Facebook page for updates nearer the night for which of our friends will be catering.
What if it rains? We will still go ahead – we are on an open air roof terrace so keep this in mind when getting ready – you should check the weather forecast and come dressed appropriately! Remember to bring warm/waterproof clothing and a blanket if you wish, as it does get cool once the sun disappears. We will have disposable ponchos available for free if it's raining. Only in the case of extreme weather, such as dangerously high winds/torrential rain, will the screening be cancelled and we will re-allocate your tickets to another screening.
Seating: Seating is provided so there is no need to bring your own. Seats are not numbered and there are no specific seats reserved with tickets. When choosing your seats on the night please don’t leave gaps.
No food or drink is allowed to be brought into the venue.
Screenings will start just after sunset.
