Where: Cardiff Bay, Outer Lock Crossing, Tardis Walk, Cardiff Bay, CF10 4GA

Cardiff Bays 1st outdoor cinema!

Stand By Me (1986)

It's the summer of 1959 in Castlerock, Oregon and four 12 year-old boys - Gordie, Chris, Teddy and Vern - are fast friends. After learning of the general location of the body of a local boy who has been missing for several days, they set off into woods to see it.

Along the way, they learn about themselves, the meaning of friendship and the need to stand up for what is right.

Screening Information:

The venue is located directly between the Dr Who Experience and the Norwegian Church on the recently developed Outer Lock Crossing with stunning views across the whole of Cardiff Bay.

Our events are for adults, no under 18s admitted. Please ensure that you bring along I.D. if you’re lucky enough to look under 21!! No dogs or pets allowed.

A licensed bar is available so you can enjoy a drink watching the sun go down and the stars appear. Hot food and cinema snacks and treats will also be available for you to nibble on...check our Facebook page for updates nearer the night for which of our friends will be catering. We'll also supply some awesome tunes to enjoy whilst you watch the sun go down.

What if it rains? We will still go ahead – we are an open air cinema in Cardiff Bay so keep this in mind when getting ready as there is no cover – you should check the weather forecast and come dressed appropriately! Remember to bring warm/waterproof clothing and a blanket if you wish, as it does get cool once the sun disappears. We will have disposable ponchos available for free if it's raining. Only in the case of extreme weather, such as dangerously high winds/torrential rain, will the screening be cancelled and we will re-allocate your tickets to another screening.

Seating: Seating is provided so there is no need to bring your own. Seats are not numbered and there are no specific seats reserved with tickets. When choosing your seats on the night please don’t leave gaps.

No food or drink is allowed to be brought on site.

Screening will start just after sunset once it is dark, approx 9.30pm.

Doors 6pm-11.30pm
