Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix

When: Saturday 4th July 2015 - 11:00 - Fanzone | 17:00 - Engines start

Where: Millennium Stadium, Westgate Street, Cardiff, CF10 1NS

One of the most eagerly awaited events of the British motorsport calendar is set to return to Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on Saturday July 4th, and his year’s Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix promises more high speed thrills than ever.

British rider Tai Woffinden goes in to Cardiff top of the leader board while last year’s British GP winner and current world champion, American Greg Hancock, will be hoping to maintain his titles and add a victory to his Independence Day celebrations.

Chris Harris - who is the only rider to have won the British SGP in Cardiff - will be looking to put in another great performance along with the British wild card who will be decided on June 15, meaning fans will have three British riders to cheer on at the stadium.

More than 40,000 Speedway fans flocked to the Welsh capital to watch last year’s nail-biting Grand Prix which saw Woffinden just miss out on top spot to Hancock.

The event – which sees riders reaching 70mph on 500cc bikes with no brakes - never fails to set pulses racing and induce some heart stopping moments for stadium spectators; both super fans and families alike.

The July 4th fun will begin during the day in the Fanzone in Cardiff’s Wood Street and the British FIM Speedway Grand Prix will start with pre-event entertainment in the Millennium Stadium, followed by the Grand Prix itself (5pm start) and finishing with the popular and suitably spectacular indoor firework display.

BSI Speedway managing director Paul Bellamy said: “The British Speedway Grand Prix has always been our biggest event of the year, but having a British rider with the profile of Tai Woffinden has certainly boosted interest in this event even further.

“The reception he received from the fans last year was phenomenal and we’re expecting nothing less than that again this year – both for Tai and all those competing in the GP.

“The atmosphere in Cardiff is always electric and as with every year, fans will certainly not be disappointed with the racing spectacle that lies ahead!”
