The Science of Laughter - Sophie Scott

Laughter is probably the most frequently encountered emotional expression, but research on it is scarce.
In her talk, Sophie will highlight the evolution and physiological properties of laughter, as well as how we perceive laughter.
Sophie Scott is deputy director at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London, and a Wellcome Trust Senior Fellow. Her laboratory studies the neurobiology of human vocal communication, from voices to speech.
