Forty years ago Hamish Stuart had just written two songs for the next Average White Band album Soul Searching. The first song was ‘Queen Of My Soul’, on which saxman Molly Duncan blew one of his most memorable solos and drummer Steve Ferrone played a major part. The second song, A Love Of Your Own, was co-written with Californian singer / songwriter Ned Doheny and went on to become a multi covered R ’n’ B classic, covered by Shalimar’s Howard Hewitt, Milly Jackson and many others.
The album recorded in early January 1976 is now considered a classic in AWB’s history and legendary producer Arif Mardin considered Soul Searching to be their finest hour.

Fast forward to January 2014 when Molly and Hamish got together in Los Angeles to play at Steve Ferrone’s induction into the drummers Hall Of Fame - the first time the three had played together since 1987. The musical experience was so enjoyable for all that it rekindled their great musical relationship and they decided to do it again as soon as schedules allowed.

The schedule allowed them to play three shows at London’s Ronnie Scott’s followed by one at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall in 2015

Under the moniker ‘360°’ the 10-piece band will perform the ’Soul Searching’ album in it’s entirety, along with other AWB standards.

Those years since 1987 have been pretty fruitful for them all. Steve played with Duran Duran followed by a long spell with Eric Clapton before becoming the drummer in Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers.
Molly has been in much demand as a session player and soloist all over Europe and Hamish joined Paul McCartney’s band in the late 80’s/90’s on record breaking world tours. He has since peppered his own solo career touring with Ringo’s All-Starr’s, writing and touring with his own band and producing albums for an array of artists.

This reunion of three players who have achieved so much together and separately promises to be a memorable event!
