An Italian restaurant with something for everyone. They quite literally do have something for everyone here - well everyone who likes pizza or pasta anyway. As with all the restaurants in this large chain the interior decor is clean, crisp and modern and a large open kitchen is situated to the rear of the restaurant.
They also have a large outside seating area for when the weather is warm enough - and there is no better place to be seen, and to 'people watch', than Mill lane when the weather is fine.
The menu is large and will include all your favourite pasta dishes and pizza toppings. The service when I visited was good but I have heard mumblings of long waits for food when it gets busy. Personally I don't mind this as long as they have plenty of wine, which, being an Italian they do! Wine prices and quality vary as in all restaurants but as this isn't a wine review I won't try and tell you what to go for.
Prices were OK and about average for the city centre. If you are heading into town for the evening this would be a good starting point as it's location is ideal for walking to any part of the city centre but it is also intimate enough for a candle-lit dinner for two. There is also a large section upstairs that would be ideal for parties should you be catering for a big crowd.
I liked this place and I'd go back - but there's lots of good Italian restaurants in Cardiff so competition for business is intense. I think ASK could be a great restaurant but at the moment it doesn't have that special something that separates the good from the excellent.
