Diffusion is a new biennial photography festival staged in Cardiff, Wales’ capital city. Alongside international names, Diffusion will showcase some of the best photography and lens-based media talent in Wales, providing a global platform aimed at the wider arts and media community and encouraging new visitors to the capital.
With 19 exhibitions and a number of events, the festival will use both traditional and new media to create a strong visual presence across existing venues, found spaces and through interventions in the public realm. It will provide opportunities for creative participation for people of all ages, including artist talks and workshops, a PhotoMarathon, photo book fair and independent publishing weekend, schools’ programmes and photographic rambles around the city. The Diffusion website will also be an exciting interactive platform, enabling visitors to Cardiff and others around the world to join in festival activities.
